Yeah turbo is a good way to go for mad power. Your tranny should be up to the task too. Prolly want to go with a centerforce clutch but you probably already anticipated that. I like the low end torque of the twin screw cuz I like the big block feel but if mad power is what you want turbo or the pro charger big dawg is the way to go

After reading that you guys are wanting to run like 20lbs of boost, i have one question. If you are making over 700RWHP, how does your car go anywhere? I took a ride in a 650RWHP '07 GT500 and it was pretty slow, all it did was spin, 1st gear was useless, all it did was burnouts. I am assuming that none of those cars can hook-up, i have just been wondering why anyone makes that much power with a street car.

Yeah thats what we were just discussing. You can use 700 ponies but you need slicks and the goal of being the fastest and most consistentdude at the track. Then they pay you $$$
Other than that its overkill if you want to play on the street.

For a streetable car IMO you need to be in the 550-600rwhp range max. Though with some serious Suspension mods and D/R you should be fine. Of course if you mass the gas you more than likely wont get very far. I think thats why the turbo is great, build up boost , but you better hold on and know how to drive. once you get in the 700 range you need to have the best suspension possible. Alot of people think when build these cars up as long as they have a motor to handle boost thats it, but Tranny, Clutch suspension tires etc come in to play and then you start talking even bigger money

progressive boost controller is all i have to say. poplar hot rodding had that white chevelle twin turbod ls a few months ago. i ran rougly 860 rwhp. runs 10.2s at mid 140 mph. it was running stock style suspension with the hotchkis arms, adjustable coil over shocks, and i beleive 285/50r15 bfg drag radials. set up brough boost up further in eash gear. fisrt gear was 9 lbs, second 13.5 lbs, third 16 and fourth was 19ish with the pogressive boost first gear it made around 525rwhp, second was 590 rwhp, third 700 and in fourth it cleared 800 and peaked.

Yeah that is the way to go! nice numbers with a stock style suspension, but with proper suspension and slick that baby would go 9's easy!

I may be able to "hang" with you, lol but thats about it. Chris said i should expect to be in the 370-380 range, but im not really complaining. If i wasnt such a broke college student your set up is DEF the way i would go. I was there when Lou was putting the finishing touches on your car and lets just say i thought about going and taking a $7,000 loan out that day, lol.

Yep got my car fixed last week, got the shelby bumper on, it looks pretty good. Ill have my car in probably sometime next week, just ordered my nitrous kit which should only take a few days for him to get to. Yeah i was talking about Gary's red saleen, NASTY! Lol he curses everday taht he still has the manual tranny in there, and bitches about not being able to afford the auto, lol!

Hey did you get your car fixed? also were talking about the Stroker they put in the red saleen? if so, that does look sick! Chris is the best. My car runs better than it did stock, when it comes to smoothness.

LOL. Nitrous! That should be fun! You maybe able to hang with me now!I will more than likely go with a 75 shot after the stroker is done, help spool the turbo up!

LOL. Well I am glad someone likes it. My wife wasn't thrilled!! Well untilI got on it and hear exact words " Holy Jesus"... The great thing is we are ultra conservative on this tune. Chris could of got 40-60 more hp just out of the 9psi. One thing I have noticed is the gears I think they will need to be changed. I'm thinking of going with a 3.55 instead of the 3.73 on hear now. I may get flamed for that, but this thing pulls so hard in between 3500rpm to 5500 rpm that I'm not in fourth very long when WOT.
I have driven my friends 450 rwhp LS1 and even though he has more hp, my car feels like it pulls harder longer and smoother than his.

I'd say 500 hp's max, anything more isnt tactically feasable for rain, snow, etc. IMO I'd rather have a 500hp all motor car though, I've owned one and it felt more natural than any blown car I've been in. This is why I'll prolly stay N/A, just to built a motor car just as quick as a F/I car.. Just a thought.
