stroker engines
To get these 3V to N/A 500 hp would be very hard. Lots of money, but I am sure fun to do. I think more than likely you would have to build a bigger motor than the 3V. Then you would have issues ie 427 motor going in a S197 (it has been done though)
As for the comment on 500 hp being enough. it is never enough when you start playing with the big boys. beside 500 hp is not that mch these days . **** next years viper is 600 flywheel hp. 500 is where life begins. this car is prbably the slowest toy i havent done any major work to yet. and i can off the floor at the dealership with 415 to start with.
well ill put it to you this way when you start playing in a group that has moded 06 z06 vettes, big inch stroker ls1 camaros and TAs, modded vipers nd srt 10s supercharger srt 8s, and stroker supercharger 4v cobras, 500 rwhp leaves you near the back of the pack. i dont like being near the back of the pack. and i really hate losing to guys like my dad and my boss
I think this is one of the better threads that have been in here. It is a topic most have thought about and not competely explored. So to those of you who building your own, or purchasing a built engine, keep it updated as the rest of us can learn from your stories.
I look at it a bit differently. I'm not out to play with the other guys or street race (not that you said that). I'm just looking to have a vehicle that I'm almost afraid of. Something that will forceme to show it respect, makingme use caution. I have the suspension built, the exterior/interior done, now I just have to decide what's next. What will top it off? I really like the idea of building a engine and putting a blower/turbo around it. But, I may just add some FI to this one and let'er rip, seeing how longthe enginewill last.

plan is to build the engine and do the tranny swap, but keep the roush blower while i break in the engine and get used to the jump in power. it also let me dial in the chassis and suspenion then, itll be swap out hte blower for the turbos or big centrifical supercharger. the goal is 550 rwhp next year than to clear 750 the year after. besides the roush will look good in the garage next to the new camaro in working on getting. ie im hassling my fleet guys weekly to see when i can place the order for it.
Is it just me or does a modded car start to feel slower after you get used to the added power?
I don't think that I'm excessively hungry for power (although I did just get back from the NHRAraces in Atlanta), but my 433rwhp is only so-so exciting lately...
