Default Adding a water temp guage

So im planning on getting an electric water temp gauge.

Tapping into the stock sender probably wont be possible will it?

I dont want to drill and tap anything in the block or manifold, so i was thinking of getting a hose adaptor and just placing it along the upper rad hose just after it leaves the engine block before going to the radiator.

Something like this... http://www.autometer.com/cat_accesso...il.aspx?vid=52

Good idea? better way of doing it?
TIA
