Tire Pressure / 07' GT 18's ?
I was looking in the Tire and Wheel thread and couldnt find an answer.
Does anyone know what the proper stock tire pressure ( PSI ) should be for an 07' GT with the factory 18's ?
I have it set at 35 PSI but im not sure. I know different people like different settings, just wondering what stock spec is.
Thanks
Nate

So at 35PSI, you get better MPG, but does that make the ride bumpier? Or i should say what effect does that have on the car.

The sticker on your door post should say 32psi. I run mine at 35 for a little better MPG's.

The engineers design around the specified tire pressure for the best compromise of ride and handling. I would use what is listed on the sticker on the door jamb for street driving. If you track or autocross your car then you'll have to play with tire pressures.

The ride may be a little firmer, but going up 3 psi will not make the center wear out faster. The 32 psi is what Ford recomends for the car. The tires (my tires) are rated for up to 44 psi. I push that 750 pound load limit to the max with our family so I figure I'm goooooood.

Iknow thatyour tires will perform better overallwith at least 35 PSI. You may notice a little stiffer ride but probably not.18" tires are only a little over 3" taller than the rim, not a whole lot of cushion to begin with. I agree with Orange S197, The tires are rated for much higher pressure than 32 PSI. One of the first things you do on a road track is determine the best tire pressure, and it is usually much higher than 32 PSI. Ford's tire pressure rating is for a street driven stock car. Performance cars usually do not fall into that catagory. So I would suggest that you experiment with pressures and find out what works best for you. It also is not uncommon to have different pressures from front to rear. IMHO.
