2008 HIDs
schapman: Can you shed more light on the harness connection?
It appears the HID connector is a mirror of the halogen connector. Think of it as a female version of the H13 bulb socket (on the bulb itself).
I do not have the 08 wiring diagrams to verify the Ground and low beam / high beam connections or the voltage sources, but assuming Ford's typical nickel and diming, everything runs off +12 VDC (the ballast would convert to +42V and the ignitor converts to 23,000 V).

When using flash to pass, the low beam should remain active when the high beams light up. My *guess* is that on the 2008 Mustangs w/ factory HIDs, they got rid of the high beam option and just kept flash to pass (or made the high beam the same as flash to pass). Does that sound about right?
So what did you do to make the 2008 HIDs fit/work on your Stang?
Did the HID assemblies physically fit the vehicle cavity?
Did you buy the factory HID connectors?

I cant remember if I check the flash to pass but I did check the high beam and the low beam wire turned off. The light housing fits any mustang GT or V6 without moding it just bolts in. To get them to work without buying the ford wiring harness and hoping that was all I needed I just purchased an H13 adapter for the plug. Then I ran a relay to the battery and connected the activation wire (of the relay) to the amber light in from of the car. Then ran the 12v from the relay to the low beam. Of course I only have the ground and high beam from the factory harnes connected to the lights. In a few weeks I'm going to switch the D3R to a D1S bulb and ballast and see if that produces better light. The 2008 Mustang Hids arent as good as the Audi,BMW, Etc. you will have to go to a Projector to get the best light.
I used a male h13 pigtail and cut the HID headlamp plug off and replaced it with this. They also sell just a Male to female adapter but i had to cut wire anyway so I just purchase the pigtail. The h13 bulb socket is male and your factory plug is female.
