I tried putting the seat in the middle but it really didn't seem very stable on the hump. In addition, there is no upper latch for the center so I wound up putting on the passenger side. Fortunately, my wife is only 5'1" so she can keep the seat forward and out of his kicking range. For longer trips in the Mustang, we take his shoes off and she can slide the seat back. He doesn't kick as much barefoot.

I have 2 leather seats in the back for my 3 & 6 year old. Most will fit and usually most stores will let you test fit them if that is your main concern, anything to make the sale.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I tried out my bestfriends Graco Car Seat this past week in my 2005 Mustang Coupe and it fit just fine. GRANTED the passenger seat was a little closer to the dash, but not any closer than putting someone in the cak seat while crusing arund town. ALSO I put it in rear facing, it's a law here in KY up to a certain age and weight limit. It still fit fine. Once again... I did have to move the passenger seat up a bit, but I expected to have to do that. You can't lounge in a Mustang if there's anything in the back seats. BOOYA!!! My boys first car ride will be in a Mustang!!! YAHOO!!!!

my son will be 4 in sept,. we have a car seat in the 07. I take out the passenger headrest, so he can look over the passenger seat, out the front windshield. He's is bad encouragment, "Dad,..do a burnout" "Dad,..play smoke on the water" "Dad,.. do another burnout", like i need encouragment.
