I've had nitrogen in my tires since day 2, never had to add any to them. Seems to me if the air pressure stays the same and does'nt leak out then a person would'nt be getting tire wear pattern from fluctuating pressures. I've been really pleased with it and theplace I bought my tires from says if I do need to add any, it is free.

See acrokat post above from a different forum. N2 is a gas. All gases expand and contact with temp differences. Jr High School Science class. All elements expand and contact with temp differences. And the normal air is 78/79% N2. You brethe it with every breath you take. N2 is a waste of money, so is H2 in a tire.

Slick 50, fuel line magnets, Tornadoes, laundry *****, damn, the list goes on and on with things that really offer no benefit. Especially when you have to pay for it.
I'm done ranting.
This subject just gets my panties all wadded up.[:@]
You mean the fuel line magnets and Tornadoes don't do ANYTHING for a car? But...but...but...I saw an infomercial...They had a minivan on the dyno, and its horsepower increased...I mean, all they did was took out the old, dirty air filter that was clogged with dirt and leaves and gunk, and put in a new one, combined with this Tornado thingy, and the car ran better...

And P.T. Barnum's Snake Oil Liniment and Shoe Polish does wonders for curing cancer...

You're more than welcome to put H2 into a tire. *I*, however, wouldn't want a flammable gas in my tires. Remember the Hindenburg?

Maybe you're thinking He = Helium, the inert gas, instead of H = Hydrogen?

And Mythbusters already proved that Helium in a football doesn't do anything to help lighten the ball; a pound of helium is the same as a pound of air, or lead, or any other element. Why would it change the weight of a tire?

I have had it done, and I will swear all day long that I can feel the road better. Sure, it's prolly my imagination...
Anyway, I work at a car dealership and I was simply amazed at how much water the nitrogen pushes out of the tire (they put nitrogen in, purge and refill). If nothing else, it's a safety issue as well, think of fire and oxygen.

Straight Nitrogen does Very , Very little.
You already put 75% Nitrogen in your tires just by filling them with air. Actually it's 78.1% but who cares.
Earth is not a oxygen atmosphere, It's a Nitrogen atmosphere with Oxygen.
