I think most people understand the camaro is faster stock but what mods to it take to make the mustang faster? It shouldnt be much. I have seen some dyno charts on here showing over 300 rwhp with just a CAI tune and UDP. So it seems that would even the field them some CMDP or LTs would put the mustang on top.

also an auto f body has a better tranny then ANY mustang EVER

Just a heads up brotha, you are gonna get flamed for that one without proof. I personally am aware of only two times that has happened (12.8 stock) from reputable sources: Evan Smith from MM&FF and GM High Tech, and a guy in my local F-body club. He drives the orange 9 second NA 4th gen Camaro SS that was on Pinks and obviously knows his way around a gearshift. If you really did that than big props.

My LS1 TransAm dyno'd 325rwhp with just headers and a CAI. I have the slowest LS1 ever made...and it's an auto. Mostly all of them dyno 300+rwhp. For one to run 14.5 is a damn shame, unless you guys are 5000ft above sea level. Some have went 12.7's and 12.8's bone stock...as tested by MM&FF.
For you n00b's, they're grossly underrated. If you see the 305hp rating, that's nearly what it'll put to the wheels.

As for a camaro what does it run in the 1/4,I have seen plenty at the track(raced many) and they avarage 14.5's. I am new to this site,and have noticed many talk about the camaro like it was god and a mustang could never beat it.I have never been beaten by a camaro,even when I use to race slant sixes(225 C.I 3.7 L) in my Mopars! Whats up with that?

great engine, but far from the best imo.
why argue this **** instead of saying, no, you will probably lose to the z28. mod up and you should make a good run out of it. startin to look like the cobalt forums guys

I say this because even though you can modify a 4.6 and put in the famous supercharger, you can also do that to an LS1 and in the end the F-body will still come out having more power.
I do understand though on how the mustang guys have a point when they say "its a 4.6 against a 5.7" but all I can say is that well only Ford can do something about that, so until then run what u brung.

I have been a ford fan for more of my life than a chevy fan ( i have been on both sides) But the 79-93 fox bodies are definetly nicer than the IROC's of the same years, the new edge mustangs were pretty sweet too but the new mustang is by far the best looking mustang of all time in my opinion! as far as performance goes chevy has stayed the course with its small block push rod engines thats why they make more power ( not to mention they usually have more C.I.D.). As far as im concerned though, buy a new mustang for its style and its 300 hp. Throw a few bolt ons at it and you will be right back on top of the game again. I often thought of putting an LS1 or the new LS2 in a new mustang but thats jus crossing the line!

Here is the point to this entire thread, as it was posted from the beginning.............................dont matter if you LOVE a stang or LOVE a maro..............if you know your cars anyone will tell you that a stock LS1 or LS2 is going to stomp a 4.6.......KEY WORD "STOCK"!!!!!
Trust me, I know, my 04 4.6 5-speed with modest mods, got its **S owned by a 98 Camaro with very, very modest mods............it wasnt pretty and I damm sure wasnt proud!!! [sm=bustedsign.gif] BUT, I still love my stang either way, when I get my mods on this 07, know this, Im gonna take another stab at that maro!!!!!
