Erm our motor is rather lame, so weak and brittle. Hard to get over 400 N/A and you can't go over 450 F/I w/o getting internals wtf is that!
You are nearly doubling its stock power you cant expect it to stand up to something it was never designed to do. 400 N/A is acheivable as we have seen numerous videos over the last few days and that didnt include heads or stroking the block and other bits and pieces weren't added. But 400hp is like the equivalanet of 260BHP over stock thats a fair bit of power when you think about it. Im sure loads of people seem to think these cars make 300RWHP from factory without realise thats BHP there quoting.
We have?? there is no way you can get it to 400rwhp n/a w/o head/stoke/shafts/bore. Im sorry man but when people typically talk about #'s we mean rwhp, or do you always take out your engine to have it dyno'd??? The numbers are weak when you try to mod it compared to other motors. A stock SRT-4 block can withstand 500rwhp. A stock 2jz can withstand 680 easily and it is rated for 260 bhp.

you guys are funny. sure ford is squeezing tons from these little 4.6's, but goddamn they are small bore crap. a n/a 351 can be made to produce WELL over 400 ponies, hell my 302 was 400+ at the flywheel using ford casting heads...... its all in how you build it.

a C is a heavier block than the W, and as such they can be made to handle unbelievable amounts of power. 600-700 hp from a naturally aspirated 350ish cubic inch motor is easily obtained. can we do that with our 4.6's? hell no - not without stroking, supercharging, etc.

for the navy guy, thanks for helping our country kick ***. i wish i could give you some answers, but i CAN tell you that any car that can fit a wide *** OHC motor should be able to hold a big block no problem. i DO know that there was someone who put a 427 cammer motor in a S197. basically that thing is powered by the hand of god.

Since I got my 07 Mustang a few months ago my Pantera has been a little neglected and sitting in the garage so I decided to take the Pantera to the Donut Derelicts car meet this morning. After driving the Mustang for the last few weeks I’d forgotten what a fire breathing monster that Pantera 351C is. When I fired it up this morning it was like holly cow this thing is a monster. When you punch it mooooves!!! It would kick butt on my Mustang.

The stock 71 Pantera 351C had 330 HP but most are in the 350 to 425 HP range nowadays. A built normally aspirated 351C with a single four barrel carb makes about 425 HP and with a blower or Tubos in the 600 to 700 HP range. While I think the 351C is very good and a brute of an engine hacking up your Mustang to install one may not be worthwhile.

If I was going to hack my Mustang I’d find a 427 side oiler to install.

dimensionally a 351c is about the same size as the 4.6, but it would be a complete waste of time and money.

our motor can be made to put out over 400 to the ground quite easily. the only real weakness is the rods. only a fool would put in a boat anchor of a motor in it's place. these motors can make just as much if not more power - and emissions legally to boot.

30+ years ago there was a saying "there's no replacement for displacement." Nowadays that just isn't true.
