Default Cleaning Throttle Body

So today I decided to clean out my throttle body because I had been having some rough idle problems similar to some others on this board. Everything went great cleaning it out, but when I attached it all back together, the car drives great except for when I let off the gas. When I let off the gas, the rpms either hang at about 2500, or very very very slowly return to idle.

Any ideas on what might be wrong?

when you say clean it out, do you mean
just around the butterfly mechanism, or
did you clean around the spring area

Just around the butterfly mechanism. I just reloaded my b amachips tune, and the revs come back down like normal...must have had to reset the sensor position or something.

When shifting though, my revs seem to come down slower then before, i'm not sure if this is something to expect or if something still might be weird?

I have never cleaned mine yet, but I have the same issue. Also the rpm's are very high on cold start ups for aprox 15 seconds or so.

well since you had the air intake off, you
may just wanna go back and make sure
there are no air leaks

look close, you may need to re adjust the intake
to get a better fit

did u just wipe it out?

if you didn't use a throttle body cleaner, you may have just rearranged the dirt.

also, the car has to relearn idle.

I used STP TB cleaner to clean it out. It seems to rev fine and everything, it just hangs up a little between shifts so it's hard to shift smoothly.

Bump, any ideas? I'm not really getting a huge engine brake anymore when i downshift, so maybe the throttle body is taking a long time to close? I just don't understand why it would only do that under a load
