I have 20 x 8.5 on 255/35/20 front and 20 x 10 on 295/30/20 rear lowered on sportlines. Love the look and it has a mean stance along w/ alot of rubber out back.

dont 20s mess up your handleing too much? I heard that 18s were as big as you could go without loosing preformance and alot of ride comfort

Not trying to hijack the thread,

I just ordered 245/40/18 on 9 x 18 for the front and 275/35/18 on 10 x 18 on the rear. I'm putting these on a V-6. Think they will look OK or will I need to lower it to really make it good?

You will need to lower or there will be alot of gap. You should have consulted us first! The tires you ordered are a smaller profile than what most of the people here have gone with. Most of the people have gone with 255/45/18's in front and 285/40/18's out back. There are some like me who have gone with the 295/45/18's out back, and even 305/45/18s, but I think those were drag radials.

I'm at the high end running one of the biggest widest setups and I still have gap on my car, enough that i'm about ready to lower it at least and inch all the way around.

20's give you better handling, but a stiffer ride, meaning you will feel the road bumps a little more.

18s will give you a better ride because you have more sidewall on the tire. The added rubber lessens the feel from the bumps in the road, more cushion you know.

Everyone says that 20s take away more power because it is a bigger mass of rotating metal, however that is dependent on what the wheels are made of. An aluminum 20" wheel is going to be lighter and have less rolling friction than a heavy steel 18" rim.

I love the look of 20's, but the fact is that you have to drive more careful with them unless you want to have to deal with bent rims. I'm happy with my 18's, especially considering I don't have to slow down for every railroad track or bump in the road but I think 20's look great to. In the end, its all about what look you are going for. Nothing else matters except the vision you have for your car.

I have 20's on my GT and it handles good, just a little bumpy. We have a lot of those steel plates on the road around here that will jar your teeth loose if you dont slow down. I wanted to avoid that on the V6 since its a DD and went with the 18's on it. A little more tire makes a big difference in ride quality.Unless you are going to run road races at road atlanta on the weekends, or have a another daily driver.... I would go with the 18's. I could take you on a 5 min ride if your local and you would better understand what we mean. I have had the 20's on for 6 months and already had to replace one due to a bent rim and i'm very careful about what I run over. If i'm happy with the 18's on the v-6i'm goingto sell my 20's and replace them with 18's
