until you find the problem (if you do), put in a disconnect, works like a charm

If the search worked you would be able to see many posts on this topic...I had the same problem twice..got me a battery charger...charged it to 100%....have not had any issues like in one year...despite leaving the stang sit for many 21 day trips...

I have the base model single disk stereo that is running an aftermarket amp that IS connected correctly with the remote wire. When I power the car or stereo off, the amp turns off (it has a power light). I have been having problems with my battery since the weather has gotten cooler. If I let the car sit without running for more than 3 days, dead battery. The amp I have has been in 2 other cars anddid not causeany drain on their batteries. I am planning on investing in a Red Top as soon as I bring her out of storage in the Spring. My guess: Ford uses cheap batteries.

No, it's not limited to the 1000.

The only way I've cured it is to turn my Shaker 500 off and NOT engage the active anti-theft system. Fortunately, it's in a garage.

These car are notorious for dead batteries. Never happend to me yet. Their has been many threads on this. The best thing I cold tell you is, battery tender if sitting more than one week.
