Default Warranty Dilemma

So I got a new GT a few months ago and it is under a 3year/36,000 mile full coverage warranty. I really want to put a set of springs on the car to get the ride height lowered but Ford says that if I were to do that it would void any suspension related problems I may have. I am new to the mustang world so my questions for you areā€¦

I know many of you have springs on your cars, have you had to deal with any similar warranty issues and if so are there any loopholes?

Are these cars prone to suspension related issues with lowering springs on them? I really want the springs but don't want to have to spend loads on something that may come up suspension related.

Thanks for you help!

Just do it. Almost everyone who posts here has and there are very few complaints.

Suspention related problems it's easy to see are probably the least reported issue with any car.

The likleyhood of suspension issues with this sort of mod done properly is similar to issues involving alien abductions. This is not a question of reasonability this is a question of image.

Do you want to be a blubbering chicken, who is just like every other joe consumer and goes and thinks a voided warranty on springs is meaningful to a modern car and is kept scared by the big car companies, or do you want to represent the cool brave crowd who is smarter than the average joe.

Joe consumer will probably not like you if you do the big bad lowering spring mod. Be warned.

Use the Ford kit and have a dealer install. I don't think they could refuse a warranty claim.

If you are going to lose sleep over the warranty then you should probably just keep the car 100% stock. I doubt the springs would cause any suspension damage if they were installed correctly. You could also just search around for a mod friendly dealer.

If you have ford install the frpp handling pack, it will NOT void the warrenty, but it must be installed by a ford dealer. To get more info you can go to any dealer, and get a copy of their accessories catalog. It will explain it to a tee. I got it. It will lower your car one,and a half inches.

Don't drive your car. You might void the warranty. [sm=icon_blah.gif]
