So I ordered an Automatic but....
Im starting to second guess it. I mainly ordered it because traffic is crazy out here in vegas but I have always wanted a manual. I told myself that if I could drive all the way across the country by myself like I did this summer, then I can no doubt handle driving a manual. I just dont want it to be something I regret down the road, since this car is going to be the most expensive thing that I have ever bought and I want to have fun with it. What would you guys do? Keep the auto or get a manual? Also, Im only 18 if that matters at all in my decision making process

i drove an auto my whole life until about six years ago (i'm 29)- i have never looked back
. yes, manual is a pita when you get sutck in traffic, and i might rethink my opinion if i had to commute through heavy traffic on a daily basis, but, there's nothing like the control you get from a manual tranny. not to mention the fact that it's a ton of fun, and it makes you look much cooler [8D]

Manual. It's a bit quicker than the automatic, but more importantly, it's alot more fun to drive. Once you're used to driving a manual it's second nature and you don't even notice you're doing it.
I drive here in the crowded Silicon Valley and I have a m/t. Haven't regretted it once. I was even offered the exact same vehicle from the dealer lot, only with an Auto for the exact same price....still took the manual. It also helps that I have an Navigator and Volvo with an auto if I need a break...
With a manual transmission, you can add shifter modifications; I am unaware of any automatic mods. You can up shift, down shift, and bark your tires either way more often. You can control the shift points on a manual transmission. Manual transmissions usually provide slightly better gas mileage. Automatic transmissions usually cost more as an option. A manual transmission seems more appropriate in a muscle car. (Although some might dispute the Mustang GT as a muscle car.) Manual transmissions are more fun, at least to me. I have owned numerous manual and automatic transmission cars.
On the other hand, if you expect to sit in commuter traffic two hours a day then you might stick with the automatic.

I know I will love the manual, the only thing that has me second guessing myself is 1.theres alot of traffic in vegas, 2.People are insane and will probably snap if I stall it at a green light, and 3.People cant drive(I guess I can just keep my distance)
