Conversation my wife and I just had while she was looking over my shoulder:

Her: What are you reading?
Me: They're discussing which is better, automatic or stick.
Her: Oh come on! Stick is better.
Me: But you can't drive stick.

See, even people who can't drive them like them!

You just need to be persistent and get what you want. I expect you will have this car for a few years so you will want it right.

Lol, thats awesome. thanks for the post. Another question i have is what are the 3.55 gears and what makes them so much better than the ones on the car?

Slakkerkk......Before you lose a ton on a trade-in of a brand new car....I'm suspecting the throttle response is what's making your car so hard to drive. There are SEVERAL posts done that will tell you how to fix it. I'm not referring to the ones that are tuner related, but the ones that show you how to adjust the pedal. Before I fixed mine, I HATED driving it in town, afterwards, it was like a completely different car. Look those up before you do anything that will cost you a bunch of money!

ReaperGT, Call the dealership again and tell them you want to change your order. Did you give them a down payment? If not, tell them you don't want the car!!! I think they're probably just taking advantage of you since you're so young.

The 3:55 gears are shorter than the 3:35 that's factory original. It makes the car a bit quicker on take-off, but probably slower at top speed. The gas mileage will be a little worse, since it will be turning higher RPM's.....to be honest though....everything I mentioned is marginal....I ordered the 3:55 gears with mine, and I drive it about 100 miles/day.

gatkins - i've been trying to think of many reason to keep it and stay at it and hope eventually i'll like it, but i just can't see myself forcing me to like it and if i still don't like it after a few months. I just hate having to shift the car and what not, i'd honestly rather just go out there throw it in drive and go. I wish i test drove it before hand or drove someones manual before i bought the car and i didn't do that, which was my mistake. I know i'll be taking a hit $ wise if i get another GT but i also have the option of going to a V6 with almost the exact same options. I'll actually be test driving one tomorrrow at the same dealership i bought my current car from.

but point to consider
auto gt V8 > stick v6 non gt
thats how I ended up with a auto
it didn't really matter to me I could of bought the used 06 v6 stick or the 05 gt auto both same price , I have not regretted my decision
