A couple years ago I went through the problem of trying to get someone to insure me. Not because of driving but because of the car. State Farm told me to bring in every receipt I had for the vehicle and to bring it in for pictures. I have continued to do that (but have forgotten about switching to the KB so I need to go in again). My thought is they will only give you a small percentage of what it is worth if they do not know about it before hand. My concern is not getting in a wreck and totalling it, even thought it's more possible than having my car stolen. It is more about being covered by the insurance period if they discovered I was driving what someone in their company would consider a race car.

My insurance rate did not go up. This is dealing with an agent at a branch and not some peon over the phone with a canned answer to everything.

I have state farm and i have all my reciepts but I havent taken any pics and I havent actually talked to the agent yet. i did ask the lady at the desk that handles all his calls and such and she told me if i had reciepts it would be covered. I think I should visit my agent when i get back from work. Taking pics is a good idea I will certainly do that when i get back. thanks for info guys.

On a side note isnt the insurance company USAA for military people only

I totally would have bought it from him for $1000 in 2007 if I had $1000 in 2007.

Just thought I would let you know that Agents are just sales people. In fact when they submit anything like endorsements or applications, its the "peon" at the Regional Office that determines your premium and if you will be insured or not. Make sure the agent isnt telling you things just to make you happy. Read your policy carefully.

Since the compressor & intercooler is useless now, you can simply mail it to me! I'll even pay S&H!

Don't sweat it, at least you used the search function. People bitch about people NOT using the search function all the time.

Not trying to talk sh*t...but when I hear stories like this I'm glad I have a GT500. I told my insurance I upgraded my S/C, they said take pics and keep the receipts. Being already supercharged, to them it was the same as swapping rims/tires
