Am I dreaming, or did the '08 Bullitt steering wheel take a big price jump? I thought Parstcheap.com had it for $266, but I looked yesterday and it was $409. I'd like to get one, but not for that much money. Was it $266 or was I on drugs?

No you're exactly right. I was looking at steering wheels the very day the price jumped. I wasn't really wanting to spend the $266 either so I was shopping around some. Found another on Ebay for $284 and several over $400.

I was reading on the $284 ebay ad about how the prices were going to skyrocket but I thought it was just BS. An hour later I was at partscheap.com and it was like $409.

The one for $284 was his last one, so I jumped and bought it.

Yeah, Ford is known for bumping up their prices at the beginning of the year, and also known for bumping up the prices when people start buying the pieces. When the Bullitt pieces became available, most people dealing with the parts said ****** them up because they'll jump up. They weren't lying. Same thing happened with the GT500 and GT/CS bumpers. Once Ford realized people were buying them for conversions and not just collision, they boosted the price.

that's because the same thing happened in 2001 with the Bullitt parts.

the fuel door was like $17 and next thing you knew, it was close to $100 [:-]

The main difference is it is shaped for your hands at like 10-o-clock and 2-o-clock as well as much higher quality leather. You re-use your center Mustang emblem and original air bag. Ford won't sell ME one at that price. My GT wheel looks a little better now.
