Default SCT tuner problem

Well i got a check engine light today, so i open the glove box pull out my tuner and go to hook it up. Soon as i plug it in, the tuner turned on then shut right off. It was like a fliker. I look up and notice my gauge cluster does not work neither. It blew the fuse for the data link connector/gauge cluster. So i replace the fuse and try it again and the tuner doesnt turn on it just pops the fuse. So i replace it again and hook up the snap on scanner and no problems works fine, no blown fuse with this scanner. So im sure something is wrong with the tuner. Had it maybe 5 or 6 weeks. Called brenspeed but they are closed and at some race/show. Has anyone ever had this happen to theirs????

The only time it happened to me was when it was extremely cold (low single digits) - and I had to replace the fuse in the kick panel on the passenger side (forget which one it was now), but everything worked fine afterwards. Although I did take the SCT inside to warm up before plugging it in.
