weird smell in exhaust, whats wrong?

RE: weird smell in exhaust, whats wrong?
I just took my car in for this. I noticed it more when I did city driving than when I'm on the highway. I would get to my destination and open the door and get a whiff.
The dealership couldn't find anything wrong. Here in Michigan they change the gas a bit for the winter months and the tech said there is more sulpher in the gas in the winter months. (is that true? - I know they change the gas but not sure what is actually done) That could be what is causing it. I also have only had the car since November (have 15k on it) and mostly stored it all winter and put stabilizer in the gas tank. I don't know if that has anything to do with it, either.
Long story short if I take the car on the highway and open her up the smell pretty much goes away. And we'll see in the warmer months if that also helps when the gas stations change the gas for the summer time.
I'm also going to try different gas stations, too, and see if that makes a difference.

Another guy on the boards that i spoke with said he had his replaced by the dealer, but he has a vortech blower and his tuner believed it was attributed to the tune being leaner than stock...Running overly rich or overly lean can kill your cats as well...

Stupid cats crawling in there all the time. Need those flappers like on a semi.If you haven't thrown codes, or noticed a drop in mpg, you are fine. Probably just the gas brand. If you have added a lead treatment to get better performance, that'll do it.

RE: weird smell in exhaust, whats wrong?
A while back, about 2 weeks, I got a code, I don't remember the exact code but it said the o2 sensor was slow to respond. But other then that there has been no problems. Gas milage is still good and the performance hasn't dropped at all. So far today I haven't noticed the smell. I'll let ya'll know when I get home if it comes back.
