Default HELP!!! - Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge

hey guys.. im finally trying to install this damn gauge.. and everything is/has been hooked up except the green wire that goes to the o2 sensor.. i am tapping the rear sensor, passenger side..

there are 4 wires..
-Green
-Blue
-Purple
-Black

after first tapping the green.. nothing happen when i started the car..

tapped the purple.. and then the guage went from permanently being in rish position.. it moved down to the lean position.. but nothing more..

tapped the blue.. same thing..

black.. nothing..

WTF!?!??!

i dont think you can just tap the wires.....not too sure, but they might just send a 0,1 or 5 V....meaning like you found, rich or lean.....what kit are you using?

well i have high flow cats.. and i ended up finding out that the black wire is the sending wire..

so i tapped it.. and its working.. but its not real sensative.. which would make sense, if i went to the upstream sensor.. it would polly work better.. but whatever.. atleast its doign SOMETHIGN now..

Huh? YOu using a wideband? If not, it will just jump from rich to lean. No real use.

Not all true. You will still get a general reading at WOT with a non wide band. HAd one on my focus when running nitrous and the biotch pegged lean when my fuel pressure dropped. Saved me a motor.

Yep. I was spraying at the time so there could have been plenty of damage. You can always tap into the o2 wire that is coming off of the PCM.

Just don't use this kind of connection unless it's temperary.
