Default overwriting a tune...

I'm currently running Brenspeed's 93 tune. I just ordered Doug's 93 Race Tune and figured I'd give it a shot. Heck, for $50, it's worth a try.

My question: after loading the new tune Doug sent me to my XCal, do I just plug it in the car and (1) select to remove the 93 tune that currently in there and then (2) install the new tune?

I've never done this before, thanks!

How many tunes do you currently have on your xcal??? You can load 3 tunes onto it. So, If you only have the one....brens, then you can just load the bama in another slot. Now, if you have already loaded it to the xcal, you can just plug it in and choice to load the new tune.....just need to choose it from the correct postion.

Correct. When you plug in the Xcal and choose the new tune, theXcal will erase the existing tune from the PCM (it'll still be in your tuner) and load the one you choose.

If you have the three tunes from Brent, you could overwrite one that you don't use. EG. overwrite the 91 tune, this way you'll still have Brents 93 Tune, as well as your Stock Tune, the 87 Tune and the new one from Bama. Just out of curiosity, aren't you happy with the Brenspeed Tune?

I've been very happy with Brenspeed's tunes. I was going to purchase a new antenna for $20 and the said what the hell, I can try Doug's 93 Race tune for $50! The download went well. I know all cars are different, but I could definitely feel a difference between the two tunes. The throttle response is more sensitive with Doug's tune and it pulls ALOT stronger in the low end. I haven't had a chance to really run it, but I am VERY happy with the tune!

You can only hold three custom tunes on the XCal at at a time.
You can store any other tunes you have on your PC using Livelink.
