Which direction would you head
I am planning on having a sc or turbo added next year. Right now it has an aftermarket catback and hurst shifter. What would your first mod be? Headers? H or X pipe? gears? Etc?
Used C&L or JLT ($150)and a used XCal2 ($150 - $200 you should be able to delete it from your kit when you get a SC or Turbo), then gears. I wouldn't dump alot of money in headers/exhaust until you decide if you are going SC or Turbo. Nothing like dumping big $'s into LT's and x-pipe to decide you want to go Turbo and have to take a hit on all that stuff. If you decide to go turbo you can run UDP's and keep them. Just my random thoughts.
gears are going to give you the biggest rush, but you need to be careful about what size to install if you're definitely going to a power adder later on. I ran 4.10's in my oogt (n/a) for 5 years and still averaged around 20mpg with a 285/40/18 tire. s197's run a taller tire...you should be able to run a 4.10 even if you do go to a power adder. i'm probably going to stay n/a and will soon be installing 4.30's. even with the 4.30's and the stock 235/50/18 tire the car will be turning less rpm's than my oogt. JMHO
depends on what will you be using the car for: show, street, strip, auto-x?
there is a wide array of suspension mods that will allow u to plant that future power
grippy tires for same reason
one-piece ds to support big power
brake upgrade?
all depend on your application
lots of appearance mods......
