Default Has your 05+ Mustang ever been stolen?

Just curious to know how well the active and passive security features work on the new stangs.

Yeah, I got such a good deal with mine... I stoled it.

I'm sure you can steal those cars but not easily.
I don't remember reading anything about these cars getting stolen.

never heard of one yet, but they would need a coded key to get the car started i think so really they would have to throw it on a truck to steal it.

no "stock" system is ever truely good becase a vetran thief will already know your security system inside out. Im sure its great on the joe shmoe 19 yr old thief, But anyone doing there homework on it would easily find there way through. If your that worried about it, get yourself an aftermarket alarm and have it installed far, far away from where you live. I had a Viper alarm on my old car with a 2 way pager system and they come with all kinds of cool gadgets like Motion sensors (that actually work) automatic window roll ups, back up batteries, auto starter disable on loss of power / cut horn ETC.... I thought I had every angle covered before, till I found out that thieves would just take a long drill bit, look up the schematic on your car to find out where your battery is, Drill right into the battery and let it die, then have all the time they want to disable your alarm before hooking up there own power to it rdy 2 take it. Thats when I installed the backup battery. Im totally off topic now though so Ill stop. Just so im on topic, no my stang hasent been stolen.

Ya that is what I was thinking.
Wouldn't they make all kinds of racket trying to haul it away.
I wonder if any have been successfully swiped.

don't forget that the Cadillac Ecalade was supposed to be almost "unstealable" but was the most stolen vehicle in the country [8D] My car's from Arizona and has a security system from LA that's just a starter relay which is remote controlled from a fob on my keychain, so it will only start when that fob is within about 5 feet of the car (yes, i've tried to start it without) the bad thing is they have the stupid security system stickers on the windows, so if you know that system, all you have to do is switch out the starter relay and you're off if you could get it started to begin with

I've only heard of one S197 Mustang being stolen and that was on a test drive.

They theives usually stick to imports, like Hondas, which are made to be stolen! Those cars are the worst! Easily hotwired, jimmied, etc.
Plus the big demand is for import parts. And maybe because they're such boring, bland cars the owners don't even care if they're stolen, so they don't even lock them?
