lol what an epic fail of an old thread bump.

But since I'm here, I'll throw in some input. Honestly, I got this car for its looks. I wasn't really into the whole "going fast" thing back then. Back in the day I was all over the F&F scene of imports, wings, and neon (all show, no go). I was looking into a Sentra SER and an Acura RSX. I remember the first time I saw a picture of the production 2005 Mustang GT... my jaw dropped.

I truly believed it was the most beautiful car ever designed, EVER. So that's why I got one... looks. I remember seeing the interior photo as well and falling in love even more with the design and red seats... and Shaker 1000 audio. Those are the two things I HAD to have. I was sold on the Redfire at first, but then I changed my mind when people began to get their black 05's in and posted pictures .

Thankfully I had enough sense to get the V8. It has turned me on to the world of speed and muscle cars.

I was reading this thread and trying to figure out who in the hell all these people were that I have never seen on here. By page 3 I finally figured out the thread was 2 years old Guess I should stop drinking and go to bed.

Anyway, I had always loved mustangs, my favorite being the 69. I first saw the 05 in Motortrend (grey with white stripes) while I was in Iraq in 04. Carried that stupid magazine all over that damn country. After I came home from Afghanistan in 07 I bought a 66. Loved it, but had to get rid of it in 09. Shortly after, I traded my truck in for an 05. Not to long ago, I traded the 05 for an 09. Next year, that will probably get traded for a 12. I dont ever see a time in my life without a mustang in it. I just love the car.

It may not be super expensive or exclusive, but it has been my dream car for as long as I can remember.

I'm 50, & I've always been an American muscle car fanatic. Growing up in the 70's I was a GM owner. Then in 1985 I had a buddy whose dad was a T-Bird collector. He bought an 85 30th Anniversary T-Bird. My wife & I loved the body style & bought one. That was the 1st of 7 T-Birds I owned, including 2 Super Coupes. But I had a couple of Mustangs as well; an 04 GT & an 03 Mach 1. When the S197's came out in 05 I was really impressed, & decided I'd have one eventually. Bought my black 09 GT in July of 09 when the 10's came out & I realized I liked the 05-09 better. I absolutely love everything about it.

Been a fan since the fox body style. It was always a dream of mine to own a brand new 5.0.

Same reasons as JimsGT plus, out of all the cars out there to buy, this was the only one that really caught my eye. I think it's the best looking car available.

I owned a 98 Ford Explorer Sport (5 speed) and unfortuntetly got into a wreck and totalled it. The Explorer was very reliable/dependable and a solid vehicle. With that being said, I was set on getting another Ford vehicle and wanted a vehicle that was fun and sporty. I needed a vehicle ASAP and I've always liked the looks of the Mustangs, so I decided to purchase a used 99 Mustang (cash). A year later, someone pulled out in front of me and totalled it. I was upset because the car was paid for and I was in the process of saving up my money to get a GT. Unfortunatley, I didn't have enough cash saved up, and really liked the looks of the S197's, so I decided to purchase a 2005 Mustang V6. The car is fun to mod and fun to drive!! I will eventually get my V8, but for now I am enjoying my sixxer. =-)

Got mine because we had seen some really kick-*** looking Mustangs at SEMA in 08'. Began looking for a Mustang when I graduated college and stumbled upon the Saleen.

I've always loved the old ones, but this was bought more out of an appreciation for speed and potential than any loyalty to a car or brand. Don't get me wrong, I love the look of them, but there are cars from almost every automaker I wouldn't mind playing with/owning.
