you can get a used 05 GT for 16k or less with pretty low miles.

if you only got 16K get a V6 becuase 16K will buy an 05 V6 with money left over for gas, insurance a few mods here and there.

I'd agree with most people. You could put the 16k towards a used GT, or (if you want performance only) get a cheap 4 cyl fox coupe and drop a nice engine in there with all your extra cash.

Have you checked the cost of insurance? I would think a GT would be fairly expensive if you are only 17 or 18. I also favor paying off a car as at a young age carrying a loan payment can really be the pits. So the smart thing to do would be find a nice used 05 six cylinder have cheap insurance and maybe if yoy can get it cheap enough you could have some extra money to add some extra's or maybe get lucky and find a car with a bunch of upgrades.
