The 'Stang has been my daily driver since July 13, 2005 (3 years old tomorrow!!) here in Minneapolis/St.Paul area. So that makes three complete Minnesota winters and still have the original all-season Pirelli's. No problems - I just drive real G E N T L E and leave lot's of room between me and car in front of me. If the snow on road is over 5 inches or so, she stays in garage and I take the CR-V - but that might happen a couple of time a year, if that.

This will be my first winter w/ the car in Buffalo, NY but I'm not too worried, been driving rwd vehicles in the snow for years. The way I figure it is this, people were driving rwd around in the same weather long before fwd ever existed and they managed just fine b/c they had nothing to compare it to. Just like a lot of others said, you just have to have a light foot and give yourself a bit of extra time to get there.

That's why they invented FWD. Yes, I grew up on RWD, but they were much dangerous and were in the ditch more then than now. Tires are better now, but a person still needs to do all they can to get the most traction.
