Geez... chill. You went a long way in dissuading me from being a future LMPerformance customer.

 

SINCE were on the subject of Hoods.

Intake and COOL is what many looking for...

BUT - I for one am VERY concerned about the airpressure build up causing the hood "Flop" at higher speeds - and I am looking for for Venting, rather then something that crams more air into an already overloaded engine compartment.

We desperately need a hood with rear vents that allow the pressure to excape without popping the hood at 80mph.

It is due to that point that I am so strongly interested in the hood that 05_GT is promoting as it exactly fits the bill on the rear vent issue.

Maybe LM should create a survey, asking us what we are looking for, then create a hood that matches our needs.. THEN sell the hell out of it!

 

80mph is OK... I see the flexing at 110mph+.

How about the scoops that the hood 05_Bullitt has, plus a cowl (for air pressure relief at the back of the hood), AND a shaker! Sign me up!

 

05_Bullit should have sales for his hood cemented because of this post. I personally am looking forward to hearing from him when they become available.

On a side note; no one told me that modding a mustang was going to be so addictive or would take so much of my time and attention.

You forgot to mention "and so much MONEY!".... Like.. DAYUM this stuff is EXPENSIVE!

Take me for example.... CDC shaker - $800... then painting it to match my car another $40 in paint... then 05_GT's Hood is another $600 and then another $200 to get it painted at a shop to match my car. That's $1640 and I haven't gotten to the custom strips I want, or the dash kit, or the front airdam or rear section treatment, etc, ect.

I think I am going to have to rethink putting that little Pine Tree from my mirror... have to shave some cost somewhere!

 

For the black hood on the page, would anyone one be interested in us actually deveolping and selling the hood?
any suggestions on the design would be helpfull larger intake etc.....

You're certainly correct about the cost. I haven't actually spent any money yet (for anything other than the car) so it really hasn't hit me. I don't think I'll be doing the super charger (at least for the time being) because I've been told they won't smog with them installed. Also, at this point in time, I'm not really interested in racing the car. Since this is my very first Mustang, I think I'll just do some basic modifications (headers, axle back exhaust, a new hood and some killer stripes) for now and see if I want to do more in the next couple of years. At least those are the thoughts going through my mind right now. We will see.

I for one.. most definately would be interested in versions of a hood with the cool double bow look of the black example 05_GT has... with "exit vents" an absolute MUST. AND - in my case there MUST be room for me to cut the hole for my CDC Shaker Hood Scoop and still blend with the basic design of the hood.

One of a simular nature to the hood you guys already have but with the vents designed to be exits rather then collectors would blend nicely.

One with exit vents designed like what you have, but cut out at the back of the hood instead of the front - AND small enough and far enough apart that a shaker hood scoop could sit between them would be absolutly AWESOME...

Even MORE awesome would be if you guys designed the hod with the section that could be removed already clear of supports, or even as an option (IE: With or without Shaker Hole!). THAT I would buy in a NY Minute!

Question - - will LM Prepaint the hoods to factory Mustang Colors ????? and if so.. how much ???

I too would definitely be interested in a hood like the black one GT has shown, with the exit vents the others are describing. The shaker hood scoop wouldn't be something I'd want.
