New Hood
just a quick comment about venting the pressure build up under the hood...
Cowl induction in classic muscle cars took advantage of the "high pressure" area around the windshield. You know how when you pull your interior vents on a classic you get outside air? Ever wonder where it comes from? That grill at the base of your windshield...
So that brings me to my thought... if you are installing a vent anywhere near the cowl will it be most effective or will the venting be negated by the already high pressure area? Fender vents seem more logical, or maybe vents more toward the front or middle of the hood (sort of like a ram-air scoop turned backwards...
I understand that the windshield on newer cars it raked quite a bit more than classic cars, so the "high pressure" effect at the cowl might be lessoned... but I'm no expert.
Just food for thought. Cowl vents may look cool, and if that's what you want, go for it. If you want functional, we should ask some design/aerodynaic type people...

He did not log the install with photographs, just took pictures of the final install. He did all the work himself. Looks like it came out pretty nice.

yup Yup Yup...
Let me clarify myself... when I state vents toward the rear of the hood, I didn't exactly mean at the cowl!
But rather 6" to 12" in front of it.
The further back you exit the air, the more air you allow to flow across the engine block and the greater heat dissapation you effect.
If you exit the air in the first 2 foot of hood, your not going to flow any air through the main body of the engine compartment.
I have an idea... just take the hood and fenders OFF.. and turn it into a Hot Rod! [sm=forgetit.gif] - Just kidding.

I'm very interested in this hood, or the Black King Cobra hood that is pictured above.
Dave...
Hoods do not come pre-painted as they need to be pre-fit to your car then painted.
Also if they were painted there would be a really good chance it would get scratched in shippping on truck freight
On another note, If we make that black hood would anyone buy it ?
We are thinking of developing a similar hood with larger openings and wider, taller runners.
