Open the hood. Look at the firewall. In front of the firewall, you will see 2 rubber grommets. If they are clogged, water will go through cabin filter and enter passenger compartment.Pull the grommets down to clear the clogs. You can read again the reply from MalibuJerry350. It is useful for you:

Anyone know where I can see pictures of where these grommets are? I must be blind or not looking in the right place but I can't see them - dow I need to remove anything?

Any help would be greatly appreciated - I need to clean them too because of the leak.

Thank you!

Thanks as always 157db - Are these the ones that can be removed though? Those are the ones I am looking for. Thanks again for all your help.

This happened to me after 3 days of consistent rain here in Illinois.

I did some research and found this:

I scheduled an appointment with my local ford dealership.

Nope.

Hey guys I know this is an old post, but I just stumbled upon while searching though Google. I own a 2006 ford mustang, and I purchased the extended warranty. Lately I have noticed this same issue when it rains, or I wash my car. Can you please clarify what exactly a TSB is. Is ford obligated to fix this for me, or is this something I have to pay for out of pocket?

I have called a few dealers in my areas, and they say will not cover it, and want to charge me outrageous fees just to look at it. I tried calling customer service, but they were flat out rude, and had no sympathy whatsoever.

Technical Service Bulletin.

Obligated out of warranty, no. There are a few ways for this issue to manifest. I think all are mentioned here. If you purchased an additional warranty this should be covered under it.

Here is the specific TSB for this issue.

Edit: This has reared it's head for my car now. Took a hurricane to do it, but it's there now. Not likely as urgent to get to as your own though, since this is the first time for me(and I have checked before), and while cheesy/cheap/primative the plastic cowl over the SJB does keep the electrical gremlins away for the 07+'s. Likely the cabin filter section since I've never cleaned that section out, ever.
