This is a great example of why mustang owners are not like vette owners....sorry do bring up that thread in another one but stuff like that pisses me off. Of course a blown cobra will beat an 05 GT, why even try, but you dont have to be an a$$ about that you can beat an 05 in your cobra

Amen proffesor wizard! I learned a long time ago what works and what doesn't. My broken parts list is long. I screwed up a lot of things on my own but ultimately it seemed to be the old farts who had the best advice.

Stock does not equal fast?.. and yet... you say a Cobra = Fast... I hate to break this news to you.. but.. a Cobra is Stock!... it is a Stock upscale version of the Mustang.. JUST like the GT is stock! Stock CAN be fast.. as long as your getting the Fast Stock Version... DUH!!!
Your NOT comparing oranges to oranges... Your mixing things up with out thinking about what your saying... A STOCK 05 GT will beat a STOCK 04 or 03 or 02 GT.. hands down... a STOCK 06 Cobra will kick the **** out of a STOCK 04 Cobra... a STOCK GT can't beat an 04' Saleene or Cobra...
Now.. if you want to not compare like to not-like... my old beat up 562 horse power NOT STOCK 69 Torino GT will give most any street legal car a run for it's money. ((As long as part of the race doesn't include stopping or turning!)) haha...

I also read through some of the SVT owners post and I read through the post on this thread ..I would have to agree with some of our own here about the snobby upper class 05 owners who get drawn into the hype of how quick the new stangs are ..Which they fairly quick but by comparing them to the standards of the 04 Cobra..Come on..There's no comparison ..Not in apperance, price or horsepower..My 92 coupe has a procharger kit on it and its night and day diffrence ...Heck, i'll go as far to say I was a little dissapointed at the lack of power my 05 had, but it was only momentary and it was only because I just climbed out of my 92 and into the 05. Bottom line ...there are those of us who know better than to go giant killing pellet rifle ..and then there are those who get left, flat as a pancake in a big ole foot print ..If ya take offense to the SVT post then ya might want to step back and figure out how to hunt that giant..cause the pellet rifle aint gonna get...my 2 1/2 cents ...

But, I do have to disagree on one point, SCstanger... the "appearance" of the 2005 beats any Mustang since 1970. That is my 2-3/4 cents...

Do not reply back saying im a homo comming in here and making fun of you guys because im not. Truth be told i only reconised a couple people in this post. But i think i was one of the first people to come to the 05 owners section and post "Why are 2005 Mustang owners such scum bags." Its just the way i was treated by 05 owners. Im actually happy im not the only person who thinks that way.
HIgh 400 to the wheels for a 05 GT.... 03/04 Cobra modd'd can come to play with 600.... make sure you be nice to the cobra owner and ask him what he puts down first. And if he is stock... whoops his *** and make him pisst! lol.. I say a car is a car... I only go for looks because the power doesnt stay the same for long.
Now... a blown 05 vs a blown 04 Cobra would be fun to see!

Fastest in NASCAR...that is tough to say, but I guess in order to get the general average you would have to go by points standings so that would make it Jimmy Johnson, who is 29.

It seems that you guys are blowing this thing out of proportion. So what if the SVT guys are talking smack, let them. They are probably talking about the few ones with there 05's out there that they think that they can hang with Cobra's or Mach's just because they have the new stang GT or even V6! you know that is not going to happen unless you are mod with a s/c or turbo.
I have a 94 GT and I do not hate but c'mon people, it is still a Mustang.
