Default Removing a/c system?

I have a few questions about our car's a/c system:
1. What do you think the weight of the complete a/c system is? I have heard numbers in the range of 60lbs-100lbs so I'm not sure.
2. How much time would it take to remove the a/c system from the car(mechanic or a couple gearheads)?
3. Any downsides other than obvious no a/c from taking out the a/c system?

I am contemplating this because when I drive around in the summer I pretty much just cruise with the windows down almost all the time and don't use it a lot. And a few 5.0 owners I know have a/c deleted and have no complaints. I am also throwing on a turbo set-up and will be et hunting next year and the a/c would be dead weight. Any input here would be nice.

PS- While I am on the topic of this. I know some people with aftermarket hoods aren't running any windshield wiper fluid system, so how hard would that be to take out if anyone knows? With motor it's probably a decent amount of weight off.

i removed mine becuase i relocated the power steering resevoir to that same location, full w/ pump it might weight 10 pounds full of fluid, the motor is nothing really.it comes out very easy if you remove the front bumper 2-3 10mm bolts holding it on.

I removed mine before i would say it's around 70 or 80lbs. Definitely no more than 80.

Maybe a stupid question, but would doing this free up some horsepower?
