Default Hawk HPS Pad Issue

So I got some Hawk HPS pads all the way around for x-mas and finally got a chance to install them last weekend. However, I ended up with a little issue with a couple of the front pads. I actually had two pads where the silver "springs" that are attached to the pads actually came off of the pads. One of the pads lost one and the other actually lost two. They came off really really easy. I mean on the one that lost two, I actually pulled (with my bare hands) the spring off...I couldn't even pull the spring off the stock ones with pliers. I tried to reattach them, but that was a miserable failure. The shop I got them from is trying to get a hold of Hawk to see if they will replace them for me so I don't have to buy a new set.

I was having some issues installing them, because I was changing the rotors at the same time and hand the whole caliper + bracket off and I couldn't figure out how to get the pads in correctly...I was trying several different ways to see if I could get them in, but I didn't force them by any means, but I was trying things...it wasn't until later that I realized that I have to take the caliper off of the bracket (unlike the rears).

Anyway, I just put it back together just so I could put the car back in the garage and haven't driven it since. I'm picking up another set on Friday regardless of if Hawk picks up the tab.

So has anyone else had any similar issues? This seems really weird, but I'm not sure if Hawk will pick it up since I was "trying" to install them when the springs came off.

Don't know man, I didn't have any problems with mine. So you tried to get the pads in without taking the caliper off the bracket? That must have been fun...

I did the exact same thing the first time I changed my brake pads. I just used a pair of pliers to get the springs back on and they have not screwed up yet. I didn't bother calling hawk, because it was my fault for breaking the springs off because I tried to install them the same way you did.

My dealer did the install but I have had no problems with mine. Before my car pulled either right or left when cold but no more and the stopping distance is much shorter, so its def worth the mod!
