Talking Thanks!

Thanks a lot guys. You gave me a pretty good picture of what to expect. Needless to say I ordered the Borlas...

I guess my psychoanalysts have made their assumptions by now. hahaha

I am getting the SCT tuner as well.

The question remains do you recommend dumping my K&N intake for a Brenspeed? Is there such difference between the 2? Thanks again.

Good choice on the Borla's. You'll love 'em.

If you're getting a tune from Brenspeed, I would suggest that you replace the K&N intake with a JLT, Steeda or C&L.

Thanks rshamekh. I think I will give it a shot with the K&N First and see if I am happy with it. So far The car with the K&N has come alive (without yellow lights etc). I am really happy with it however there is no tune on the car yet. I ordered my tune from American Muscle (free tune came with the tuner) and they are aware that I have a K&N on board. Lets see.

Talking Got the Borla's!!

Got the Borlas on Yesterday! I have been driving around town with a grin... I am glad I got them they are almost too quiet for me... hahaha. Ok there is drone at 1700-2000 rpm. If you intend to stick with the factory gears then the Borlas can be annoying. Particularly when you have the wife or the oversensitive girlfriend on the passenger seat and she starts complaining... However, If you plan to change to the 4.10's then you operate in the 2100-2400 rpm band for the normal speed/gear so there is no constant drone. The deep sound of the Borla's is incredible. Installing my 4.10's tomorrow.

Not yet. Stated up with a couple of strategy tunes and I can feel bit of a difference. The tunes that came from American muscle were crap. I do not recommend them at all. I am about to dump my k&N for a Steeda, so after I do that I think I will go for the proper tune. Wish me luck tomorrow. I am putting the gears on!

Thumbs up 4.10's on

Braking in my 4.10's... a little noise from the gears when you let the throtle go between 40-70miles, no noise on acceleration at any speed (hopefully the noise will go away after the 500mile synthetic gear oil change and inspection). Have not yet stepped on it, but the difference is amazing... Drone is completely out of the normal driving range, The borlas sound sex on toast, particularly when mildly aggressive. 4th gear is a dream. You can use 5th gear in City driving (you are not installing 4.10 for fuel consumption but... your city millage will increase to 18mpg if you are able not to go WOT every other traffic light. which I am sure I will be doing at least few times when the 500miles are over) Seeking for a 6th gear when on highway...

If you put the borlas on a convertible you have to get the 4.10 gears! (you owe it to yourself to put on the 4.10s on any gt, but particularly on a convertible with borlas due to drone at cruising rpm with factory gears). I would not go with anything lower either as the 4.10 just bring you above that range.

Almost forgot. Brenspeed tune ordered. Changing to a steeda CAI so I can tune it to the max.
So my K&N CAI for sale (incase you do not have a tuner) this is the intake to have. Big difference from Stock. Will do a good price. Send me a message if you are interested. Have done maybe 1000 miles with it.
