Hey modaddict....Are your headers facing the wrong way?

Or is that due to the turbo setup? Its playing tricks on my mind.

Funny huh? I thought about mounting a flexplate just for the pic to really screw with your mind...lol

Nope - built the headers that way for the new water-cooled TT kit I am doing.

Take a look at the turbos and the headers will make sense...

A lot of design went into the headers and they are SICK... (all finishing will be done after the kit is fully mocked)

Now im NOT talking about a POS ghetto rigging here...

I am and engineer, and always enjoying making think MY WAY, and BETTER

Im wondering if anyone has made a custom intake?

most people say its dumb, waste of money and not effective, but whats so complex about a lets say k&n/roush intake.

it the same design was followed what would make it anydifferent?

IF DONE RIGHT, IT WILL BE JUST AN EFECTIVE, IF NOT MORE

But besides that, i would be interested in making a TRUELY functional CAI possibly going to another location then just the stock airbox location...

lower in the bumper/fender? like my old mustang?

possibly geting some REAL SERIOUS airflow...obv a screen to avoid and debri

WHAT ARE YOU HONEST THOUGHTS????
If it hasn't already been mentioned, C&L already beat you to it. The only problem with your idea (not knocking your knowledge or know how) is that in order to be effective, you have to match the flow of each intake runner, otherwise you negate any positives or could even damage your engine. Dno't know about you but a flow machine like the one C&L uses costs thousands and I wouldn't want to buy one just to make a one off intake.

Now if you meant CAI same thing..only in this case, YOU WILL cause engine damage if you don't knwo what your doing with retuning the motor. You will need a LOT of dyno time to get not only the design of the CAI correct, but the tune for your car set up correctly...don't know about you but $600-750 for a premade CAI with a semi-custom canned tune that's known to work, add a couple hours of Dyno time to fine tune for your car beats the hell out of potentially destroying your motor and eating up a lot of time and money.

the flow bench they use is worth thousands. But thats not to say that you cannot get one for cheaper to have fun with. Either way this would be a very time consuming undertaking. If you have the skills use em. I would love to see how it turns out.

Yep, I was going to mention the C&L, JPC, or Hogans but I figured he was talking about the intake tube.

Last year I went on a cruise with a Shelby club at the Outer Banks of N.C. We stopped to eat lunch where my son and I sat at a table with a nice young couple, Jay and Lisa Tucker. As it turned out he made CAIs. Jay explained to me how he had once wanted to just get any of the CAI manfactuers to custom make him a intake. None of them would help him out so he designed and built his own. His friends liked how it came out so he made some for them too. Soon he was able to sell a few here and there, Then one of the mustang magazines did a CAI shootout and his was rated one of the best. He now has one of the most popular CAIs on the market, and now produces them for chargers, challengers, and soon the new camaro............JLT

The point is that if you feel you can do it then try. You could very well be successful at it. By the way I use one of his CAIs on mine.
