I love putting the top up or down at a stop light for the "cool factor"... hehe

But be warned, make sure you do it when the light just turns red or you get stuck at the intersection with cars piling up behind you as you wait for the top to go down/up. Sorta looses its cool factor then...

I don't recommend leaving the top down even if you keep your vert in your garage. One evening I heard a noise in the garage and went out to discover a bird had flown in and was FREAKING OUT!! It was pooping everywhere. We never leave the doors open, it had apparently flown in when we were putting one of the cars in. It took forever to get it out, it would NOT fly out the doors. Kept flying up around the ceiling. Anyway, I got to clean poop off of both cars and my motorcycles (which were thankfully covered) afterwards. If the top had been down on my stang, I would have been burying the bird instead of shooing it out

==I've heard that the top is insulated. Is this true?==

Not sure, but I think I remember reading that it is insulated. I can say for sure that it is very quiet.

==Can't you see the top's frame when the top is up?==

No, because it has a headliner. All you see is the headliner if you look up. The less aware among us (insert dumb blonde joke ) may not even realize it's a convertible while sitting in it.

I have a 2005 that the electric pump just went and the top wont go up, there is no manual way to put the top up, also Ford has stated the pump has a design defect and the car has been out of service for 17 days . Has anyone had this issue or can give me any advice?

Philbsp... I have heard nothing of a factory defect regarding convertables.

Have you ask why it is taking so long to get another pump?

I'm already on my 2nd top. The rear window seperated form the top on the first one.
Other than that no probs besides deciding what mods to do.

Rear window separating from the top seems to be a problem with "convertibles," in general, not just the Mustang.
I had the same problem with a Sebring [:'(] that I used to own.
