I use Zaino on all my cars. I think i read somewhere to avoid the touchless washes as they use harsher chemicals to get the dirt off the car. I don't know, but it sounds like it might make sense. I simply try to always wash to car myself.

OK, now I have to say that makes me almost as excited as the first day I drove my girl, now I can wash her everyday!
Thanks all, and if anyone else has any experience with the touchless I would love to hear from you, but I am definetley giving it a try tonight!!!

ORIGINAL: Mister Roper

I've been through the touchless washes about half a dozen times now. Not one leak. I do see some MAJOR buffeting on the rear window from the driers though so I usually just let them dry my hood, then pull out and hand dry/detail the rest of the car.

EDIT: Mister Roper CHIRPS THIRD!!!!!!!!! Time for a new video.

Although any automatic car wash uses strong chemicals. IF you keep a good grade wax on your car it won't hurt a thing. THAT is what keeping a good wax on your car is actually for!.. SHINE is a by product of the good wax.

How often you wax depends on how often you wash your car either by hand or automatic.

One thing for sure.. NEVER EVER take your car though a wash that uses old weed eaters to get the dirt off your car! THAT is a given!

The ones that rub your car with felt aren't any better.. they will still scratch and swirll your clearcoat.

If you take it to a wash were they have people dry your car. Walk out BEFORE you run her though and check out the towels they use. Personally, I provide the towels to the guys at my favorite place. I am not comfortable with the ones they use. The don't display any problems with using mine nor do they give me any crap about it.

YES.. I do like to wash my lady by hand.. but there are a lot of moments I simply don't have the time to do it. So I take her to Waterway!

LOL JWB , one reason we kept the 98 chevy truck to haul that big baby. We actually talked about putting a hitch on the Mustang to haul our motorcycle trailer since its one of the biggest you can get for a motorcycle with 28 cb ft inside. It would come in handy if the Mustang trunk was filled up for a long trip. I just happened to be wild about my real horses, the "iron horse" and the Mustang!
Here's a pic

You know, when you make it this easy, there just isn't any sport in it...

I was at a shop today about a seat problem and they also do convertible tops amoung other things. She told me every 4-5 months to put vasoline on the rubber weatherstrips that surround the windows to keep them in shape and supple and doing their job. Said to lift the top a bit, put the vasoline on and wait awhile then wipe off the excess vasoline Anyone every heard of doing this?
Told me to never use Armor All for the convert top and that my top is vinyl (05 v6). To never never put the car in a automatic wash as those side sprays will get inside the weatherstrips and not good for the convert top either.

PW,

Is that the waterway on manchester by the honda dealer? They don't have a problem with bringing your own towels?

Herk,

I told you I'd let you know what I found out. I was driving in the rain this week (what was left of Hurricane Dennis) and I'll be dogged if the rain wasn't running toward the driver's side on the rear window. I can't explain it.
