I'm curious if any of you have driven in light rain with the top down. I used to do it in my Honda S2000 without getting wet until the rain eventually reached the point where the water pushed to the left by the windshield wiper would flow along the side window then up over the top edge and drip onto my shoulder. That usually meant it was finally time to stop and put the top up.

So where does the water go on a Mustang convertible?

I would check this myself, except that I probably won't see rain again until about November where I live.

And on a separate but related note, the S2000 took 6 seconds to get the top up or down. The Mustang is agonizingly slow. And I tested a '95 Mustang convertible last night and it was even slower. It's a good thing I don't need to raise the top very often.

Can anyone recommend products by name to use on the convertible top? This is our first one and I'd like to take care of it properly.

gettna05!...

Mine takes 16 seconds from button push to windshield contact - then probably another 4 seconds to latch the latches. and I do wish there was a mod to speed that up!

Rain... I't has been raining here in STL... This morning it wasn't raining when I left my house - So I put the top down... It drizzled and sprinkled all the way to work and I never felt anything so I left it down. I did have the side windows up though.

Long time listener, first time caller......

My last convertible couldn't be taken thru touchless washes, (would end up with a puddle in the back seat) so I haven't even tried with my new baby, are you saying that you take yours thru and have no leakage problems because of the pressure?!!!

I have gone through two different touchless washess. There were less leaks then I got with my BMW Convertible.

In one wash - I don't know for sure because they don't let "people" in the car while it is in the wash, and then wash guys dry it off for you.

On the one where I was in the car during the wash... a little water dribbled down the inside of the drivers door glass, but I know that there is a "krinkle" in the rubber molding at the top forward portion of the arc and expected it. That was the only place that had a problem on my car.

I've been through the touchless washes about half a dozen times now. Not one leak. I do see some MAJOR buffeting on the rear window from the driers though so I usually just let them dry my hood, then pull out and hand dry/detail the rest of the car.

EDIT: Mister Roper CHIRPS THIRD!!!!!!!!! Time for a new video.

One small dribble of water every time the spray passes the drivers side window for me... but thats it... rear window does move around, but no worse than at highway speed with the top up...
