Headers was my first install of anything on any vehicle, and it was also my most time-consuming and, ultimately, rewarding. I tackled a pair of FRPP ceramic shorties (Which will soon be replaced with BBK Longs after I go s/c). My baby spend a friday night and saturday morning up on the lift, with me and my buddy going over and under and back again the entire time. The #1 tip I can give you is to find out what size nuts you are taking off, and what size bolts you are putting in, and get a rachetting, swivel headed wrench for it.They come small enough to reach in, and still be able to apply a little elbow grease. Also, #2 tip is to remember to connect your A/C compressor when you're done, if you're gonna be driving around in Texas heat!!! I couldn't figure it out for the life of me. lol

Vasman, that sounds great! How do they sound just driving around?

I can't wait to get my Kooks headers... I'm hoping to order them within month or so!

How much are you guys spending on parts for these installs? And what kind of fitment issues are there with cheaper headers? How hard are they to fix? Naturally i dont wont to spend alot... Kooks seem out of my price range

Initially I had planned on having a shop do it for me so I wouldn't have to hassel with the install. I've yet to hear of someone say the install was 'easy'. The two shops that I checked with around here (Houston, TX) were $650 and $790 for install. There is no way I'm paying that much for an install.

Soooo, I'll be tackling the Kooks install with two of my buddies... both of whom are much more experienced than I am and have all the tools we'll need.

From what I've read Kooks and ARH are the two best when it comes to fitment...
