Ordered my 06 GT

On another note he said that if I wanted the 18" wheels then it would bump my order out at least another month. The way it rolled off his tongue I am sure he just pulled that info right out of his butt!!!

Even if you don't trust him, be thankful you have a salesperson that has the courtesy of keeping you informed on your order. He may not have had all the information at his fingertips, but he was quick to assure you that your order made some progress. That's better than a lot of people on the board who leave a deposit, then don't hear from their dealer for months on end.

Thanks Don. Hmm, $225 for wheel and tire combo...got any links for anything worth recommending for around that price?

You didn't say $900 for wheels and tires... just wheels. I didn't assume you planned on using the stock tires.

I reckon that it would cost at least $1200 for something comparable to the factory 18" (I saw that the 18x9 bullits were around $155 shipped at mustangtuning.com...they look pretty good actually.) A local shop said they would give back about $35 a wheel/tire set for the stock 17's. That brings the net to about $1100. So we would be paying around $200 to $400 or so to avoid the wait for factory 18's plus have more of a choice as well.
Sounds reasonable to me.

For what it's worth, I had a buyer for my stock take-offs at $400 for the set ($100 per). But, I eventually gave them to my daughter.

The only reason to demand factory rims (or anything) is if you plan on keeping the new Mustang for about 30 years! Or plan on selling it someone else who has room to park it for that length of time!
Remember, the '65 Mustang didn't start to go up in price until almost the '90s!

Go here for tire and wheels.http://www.tirerack.com/ Any pics of Fords 18" offer. Or brand name? Or are they OEM?
