So yeah as the saying goes HP sells cars, Torque wins races. Is this even possible with a smaller displacement engine like ours. Are there cams designed to maximize TQ over HP, I'd loose 10-15 HP up top to gain it back down low as TQ. I know I see a lot of dyno runs that are like 325HP/289TQ, I'd rather have the opposite, anyone do this or look into it? I know cams can make a difference along with gearing, just an idea I had.

Building more torque can be more difficult than building horsepower. Air velocity at lower speeds is crucial (the Ford adj. intake works great), and a small amount of backpressure (in the exhaust) will actually help low end torque.

Throw in a set of 4.10 gears. They don't increase the engine's torque output, but they do increase the torque multiplication to the rear wheels, which makes the engine feel like it has more torque both at low rpm's and along the entire torque curve.
