My third brake light is melted. It is in the rear window. Do i have to pay for a replacement or should it be covered, i mean it's not like it is my fault it melted because of the heat. All i did was drive it.

 

I dunno if the sequential tail lights hook into the same harness as the third brake light, but if they do, i would remove them before going in to the dealer.

 

I'd think since you used ones that aren't bought from ford or have them installed at a ford dealer they might void your warranty for that. Not 100% sure but it's a possibility.

 

The third brake light works independent of the sequentials. Go to the dealer and get it fixed under warranty. If he says the sequentials are the cause, get a detailed written explanation and insist he explain it to your satisfaction. He'll back off.

 

I bought the car brand new from the ford dealership like this. The sequentials and everything the car has were on the car. I did not install anything. Besides remember my third brake light is in the window. I figure since the car came decked out from the dealer, it would be on them, but i dont know. I mean i paid 38,000 for the car. Well worth it.
