I have used the Belle Tire across from Oakland Mall with good success.

if its a nail hole in the tread, they will not remove the tire from the rim, they will simply plug it.

i had one last week, i took the wheel off, plugged it and re inflated it and put it straight back on the car, the spare was used for 7 miles home from my friends house. it took all of 30 mins and the plug kit has saved me twice now!

get a plug kit for your next one, $10 is cheaper then the shop will charge!

This is not the proper way to repair a tire. Those plugs, while easy to do yourself, are not as good of a fix as patching the tire from the inside. Think about it, in order to install a plug you have to make the hole BIGGER. I can assure you that any reputable tire store will break the tire off the rim and install a patch to the inside. When I dropped mine off this morning it was clear that this was what they were going to do.

are you off your rocker?

a plug kit is a temp fix it to get you home. and maybe a more permanent solution for a big meaty mud tire on a truck.

NEVER EVER USE A PLUG KIT ON A PERFORMANCE TIRE...and especially not a ZR rated tire.

Do you really want a little bitty plug to be the only thing between you and a blow-out? especially at higher speeds

Yikes.

i guess a patch is the way to go but for freeway driving i dont see the harm in the plug. they are supposed to last the life of the tire (Which wont be long in my case i need new ones)
the worst that can happen is a small leak? un likley, the plugs are solid in my book. i wouldnt recomend track driving or anything tho

Got the tire back and Belle Tire didn't charge me anything. And yes, they did remove the tire from the rim and installed a patch (the correct way to do it). Also, they did mark the tire in relation to the wheel and installed it in the exact same place - no balancing needed. Good service. Now I know where I'll be going to get new tires in the future.

A plug is a quick fix and mostly should only last about 2500 miles. A patch is on the inside and will last the life of the tire.

I choose patch. Get the tire taken off and get it patched right. you don't need to be worrying about it all the time... (what if's stuck in your head suck) and yes, have them match the tire back onto the rim in the same spot and it doesn't need to be rebalanced.
