its funny that you say that,whan i was done,i did a tool check (im **** like that),and i was missing a 15mm deepwell socket.had me pretty worried,then when i was getting in my work truck that following monday i found it,it was a craftsman and i broke it,so i threw it in my work truck to take back to sears for exchange,lol,4 months ago and its still in my work truck.

lol better broken and your back seat then it making a popping sound when you crank the motor.

Get on craigslist. buy a used complete motor u can get 4.6s out of older mustang cheap, like around a grand. and just yank it apart and put it back together. if ur not gonna use it for a replacement motor for something then u can get any make or model OHV motor. they are all setup relatively the same. I bought my buddys eclipse motor and tore it apart and put it back together twice just to understand how the OHVs worked. best $300 bucks ever spent. learned alot from it. then ended up selling the motor for $250 afterwards. I say do it just get something cheap and go to town. it u screw up, tear it down again and start over. its all for research. Good luck.

well, didn't exactly "build a race motor" but got to take one apart.. it was an 86 Mustang V-6 3.8 Push rod motor.. nothing too crazy. Just took everything off then dismantled it all the way down tot the bare-block.. pics up later!
