I did it in several hours myself just over a year ago from the outside. I would highly recommend that method if you plan on installing these as it makes it very easy. The prep took far longer than the actual cutting and you don't have to remove any of the interior. Also, you're less likely to scratch the paint (if you tape it off well).

Well I started the the very time consuming task of wet sanding w/ 2000 grit and then 1st polishing out w/ 3M Perfect It polishing compound. I will follow that up w/ 3M Finesse II finishing compound then I can do the install. I'm still debating about tinting them a little first, to me they are a little light to what I had. I might tape them in and see how dark they look first so that way if there not dark enough I'll pop em out and get some RC spray tint.
I'm near Fredericksburg, Bring em up with some beer.. used during breaks....we'll get em done no problem! There really wasn't much too it to tell the truth. Just put plenty of tape between the window and body before sawing out the glue. I messed around with it for about half a day from start to finish.Took several breaks too while doing it. I didn't want to get in a rush and scratch something.

Well its Saturday and cold as all get out so I decided to turn the heat on in the garage and take the quarter glass out. I nicked the paint in one place, Grrrrr I'm going to use duct tape twice for the pass. side

Yeah I read that it was recommended to use at least two layers of painters tape around the windows. Did you remove the interior?
Turning the heat on would help with a proper seal. SHR recommends in temps 60° or higher.
Can't wait to see them installed.

I am going to start the 2nd round of polishing w/ the Finesse II finishing material, then I'll be ready for install.
Note: If any one has to pay over $80 for this install I would say you can definately do it yourself, just be sure to have it plenty protected and keep track were the friggin cutting wire is in relationship to the paint.
