That depends on the body shop. Some cut out the damage and piece it in and other cut it on factory seams, either way bondo is in order.

I think as long as the frame isn't bent, they may try to repair it. My daughter wrecked her 2006 Focus back in April and did almost $7K worth of damage. They repaired it and did a very great job. It looks brand new.
+1, I actually wrecked my mustang gt in september and the total damage was around $7 K too. The person's (who was responsible for causing the accident) insurance repaired my baby with brand new stuff and they did a good job as well. If your insurance is willing to fix your car, I would try to upgrade it (gt500 conversion or something nice). I should've upgrade my front bumper to a gt500 conversion when they were working on it but I learned a lesson.

I have pictures of my car with damage and after they fixed it. Let me know if you want to see them.

Sure, i'll take a look at your pics. Hmmmm. I'll have to look into the GT500 conversion.

First, I'm glad your ok. I know this will not sound great to you, but it really is not that bad of a crash. It appears there is no major structural damage. A good repair shop should have it looking like new before you know it!

Hopefully Pascal will chime in, but again to me it does not seem that bad, good luck!

Glad you're ok!

I'm also a noob Stang driver and veeeery nervous about this winter. We haven't even had any snow of recognizable amount here yet which is really unusual...I'd like some time to practice driving in the stuff so I don't wipe out, either!

May I ask what kind of tires you had on the car when you wrecked?

From my experience, yes! be very careful. I bought my car pre-owned, I believe they may still be stock but I am not 100% sure. Picture from pre-accident.

These wheels are only 17", when I was on the market for a stang, I wanted to go with 18" +

I still don't get how I really slipped, it seemed like a complete freak accident going up a straight strip. I must of just hit an unfortunate streak of patches of black ice.

Doing doughnuts was kinda fun, but not in the middle of the road
