I went with brenspeed for my SCT tuner and first set of tunes, this was during the first time Doug was having problems. It then seemed he had come around, people were getting orders. I wanted to add a CAI and experience his tunes (esp for auto trans), thats why I ordered from him and figured 1 mo or 2, its no problem.
I'm still on the fence what to do, whether to take the advice here and start calling the CC company. I actually don't know what to do, I can wait, but has he totally folded?

As far as I'm concerned, this has really gotten out of hand, this isn't the only forum having posts like this. I found similar posts on some Ranger forum.

If he is still around, he really does need to notify his outstanding customers again, such as at least updatin the main page with some kind of statement.....

Since I already have a brenspeed tuner/tunes, I could've had the CAI and new tunes in a week or two max - but I thought I could wait for what I heard was better.....

I just got mine from Brenspeed but haven't been able to test it out yet due to my pony being in the shop. I run an auto also, but v8.

I don't think there is anything unsafe about PayPal. They are a money transfer service, not specifically a credit card company or bank. They state there is no money in the account to withdraw and WILL try to recover that money when it(if) ever becomes available. That is one reason why I still prefer to pay with credit card.

pay pal sucks for that exact reason, they can only get your money back if the person has money in thier account. i had the same thing happen about 3 years ago and obviously the guy who screwed me is not using that account any more,so he got my money and i got jack sh$t. i use pay pal all the time but there is always that risk when using it.

My paypal account is linked to my discover card, so the purchase was eventually made on that card. Discover told me to dispute with paypal first. I asked at that time what would happen if paypal could not get my money back. At that time they then told me they would credit it back to my card. Now I called Discover today and they will not cover the charge unless the funds are retrievable from bamachips. They said that with the bad economy the days of charge protection are over.

So no luck there either.

Stang-aholic, I've been trying to tell ya, Brenspeed does great for V6's. I have an V6 auto and I am running brenspeed tunes, I went without a CAI when I got an SCT with V6 tune from them, and it is quite an improvement over stock. I am currently running their 89 tune for a V6 auto. I can nail it and it shifts very different from stock, FIRM.... I would say that if they don't show a V6 C&L/SCT combo on there site, give them a call.
I am almost done with the wait and it looks like I'm just going to order the C&L from them, since I already bought a tuner from them, I'll get the updated tunes free according to their website.... Then I just have to try and get money back...lol...
