Just got my tuner from Brenspeed today. Sorry fellas
I'm sure a lot of people ordered in good faith though and never knew about this situation. I just went with Brenspeed since people raved about it and didn't find out about Doug's problems until after the fact. Not to bash, but sounds like he is cashing out on the money to solve his own personal problems first (which I am sympathetic, but that is in no way to run a business). He is really asking for another legal fight if he can't deliver.

It is obvious that this Doug guy is using your cash for purposes other than his advertised business (especially considering his personal problems). For you few that are holding out hopes of this guy coming through eventually...and his tunes are so good they are worth the aggravation.....give it up and ignore those that are saying your should be patient. You would be a fool to be continue to be patient. Either take legal action, chalk it up as a lesson learned, or keep posting and asking for updates. I know that when I finally purchase a CAI/tune.......I will not be dealing with Bama.....that is a no-brainer at this point.

Sorry for just stating the obvious.

wow you guys are so wrong....doug has always been a stand up guy. I have seen him travel across the country with a mobile dyno and a broken leg doing tunes for people. I assure you he is not stealing your money

it appears he has a backlog of 2 months of orders to get caught up on right now. It will obviously take some time to catch up.

Maybe, but what he has done in the past and what he is doing right now are two different things. He obviously sees there is a problem, or he would not have stopped taking orders. So he should be able to see that there are some confused and pissed off customers, why not address their issues? If he has their money, he OWES it to them to let them know what is going on. 60 or more days without any information is BS.

I am sure if he continues operating this way, he will have plenty of time to catch up on previously placed orders because he will not be getting many new orders. Word of mouth is a powerful tool and there are apparently a lot of pissed off people right now who will be hard pressed to give a good recommendation.

I am not waiting on anything, so I have nothing to gain by bashing him, and that is not what I am doing. I am just saying from a business standpoint, his lack of communication is hurting his future business and will cause further complications in his life.

Matt.....not to make it personal as I have nothing at stake....but I just went to your garage and saw that you have tunes from Bama/Brenspeed/VMP

If Bama is so great in your opinion...why the tunes from the other two? And how can your assure anyone that he he is not stealing their money? Are you best buddies with Doug? If so, your opinion is obviously biased.

We've all been through tough times....well...most of us have, I assume. Taking people's money and not delivering on the goods is unforgiveable in my opinion. Defend him all you want.....it seems foolish to do so.

You are right i do have tunes from all of them...tillman too. I have been here awhile if you havent noticed and have tested tons of things including tunes from most all the major players in the tune world. They are all good too, i would recommend any of them. I have run Dougs tunes for about 1.5 years now since i had some mods put on. He updates his tunes for free where i would have to pay another $50 for another brenspeed or the others. Brenspeed is actually going to do my cam/manifold install in the spring and i wont be able to get a tune from doug unless i have him dyno it. It would be well worth it if he were closer.

I have nothing at stake here either except in the almost 4 years that i have known about Doug and what he does that he never once should any sign of stealing from people. Hell their are several member here that have gone over to alabama and gotten dyno tunes done a few different times. I am pretty sure that a member is a former employee for Bama too. He got busy a couple years back and was behind for about a month or so and dug himself out and then some. Turn around was incredibly quick once again. Like i said he has gone out of the way many times and spent hours answering questions on the phone for some people.

You are right i dont know for sure what all is going on but knowing what kind of guy he has been in the past and even with tough times before he came through. I would expect he will get back on top of things again.

There's nothing wrong with trying different tunes. Once he gets things back on track, and hope he does because I would like to try his automatic tunes in the future. I can understand everyone's frustration, but I'll leave it at that. I have never done business with him or known him personally.

This is NOT about a backlog and he IS stealing people's money. No doubt about that. He is not acknowledging paypal disputes and paypal has no ability to retrieve funds from his account. How is that not stealing?

Now maybe he is TRYING to fill his back orders but he doesn't have the cash to supply the products because he has spent the money on something else. I don't want the product anymore - I want my money back. In order to raise my $635 to pay me back (because he doesn't have it), he has to sell 12 $50 tunes. Multiply that by however many back orders he has and you can begin to see the pit he is in.
