Your car will fail state inspection.

So by having unapproved turn signals, you can get a ticket.

I found it on this website;

Read posts #4-7.

I'm telling you, the Law here in VA is run by ****'s!

this goes back to what I said. When a car is manufactured it is with D.O.T. approval for the car as it rolled off the assembly line. The turn signal is a saftey system and your not allowed to change the way it functions unless the replacement has been D.O.T. approved for that car...

So has it been approved for our cars? If not, how can we change the laws in our favor?
I see many other 2005-2009 Mustangs with sequentials in VA, but I don't know how many of them are harassed about having them.

The inspection part is not what I'm worried about. I'm more concerned about being pulled over by a cop with nothing better to do.

If you notice some items are sold as D.O.T. approved. Thats because the manufacture has takent the time and payed the money to submit there item and it has been approved. Theres not much you can do aside from try to pressure the manufacturer. But unless they feel they can make more money by doing it, they wont bother.

Perhaps if we write to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, asking if they would recognize OEM aftermarket sequential tail lights as an added safety feature, they may help us make it legal.

I do think if by having sequentials, people will notice you more.
Same here.

Just ordered a set of seqentials for Christmas, hope I don;t get hassled in Georgia.

I think it would useful to have a switch mounted on the dash hidden so you could revert the sequentials back to stock in a flip! Imagine the looks of the cop pulling you over for having them, then flip the switch.....priceless!

Is such a thing even possible?
