They are only looking for a reason to pull you over. They do this to check the driver. Something must of caught his eye and that was the only thing he could come up with. Sequentials have been on cars since the 70's. I had them on my 73 Cougar and was never pulled over for that. Although I was 17 at the time and pulled over for other things so it is them just doing their job. Don't give them a hassle and you will be fine.

True story i was pulled over and the cop said sorry to bother you. He said i really like your tail lights and want to get a set for my 07 so i gave him a few web sites and off i went.

Don't most of these sequential systems have a switch/mode that can revert back to stock? Seems like that would be all you'd need to pass an inspection (although it doesn't solve the legality on the road).

I'm in NJ and have been passively thinking about these, so I am trying to rationalize HAHA!
