Default a couple questions

First, I was planning on taking my car in for the first oil change around 1000 miles. Mechanic at the dealer recommends waiting until about 5000 miles. Your thoughts?

Second, what is the difference between an H pipe, Y pipe, and X pipe? Do they all have the same effects or different? Does the 2010 mustang come equipped with one of these stock?

H pipe gives a deeper toner and more torque. X pipe gives you a few more ponies and has a more raspy sound. Y pipes... don't even bother with that crap

Changing your oil for the 1st time at 1000 miles won't hurt but it's been said that it's better to wait a little longer IF you're switching over from the blend (factory) to full synthetic to allow the rings to seat a bit. Many have changed over early and report no negative impact.

Synthetic blend, even the original oil, is good for 5,000 - 7,500 miles. And if you're putting a blend back in, the rings won't really know the difference. However, many people still are of the old school that you need to change the original oil early to remove debris from when the engine was manufactured. This is no longer the case today due to current manufacturing and engine prep techniques.

Our GT's come with an H-pipe. Changing to an X will change the exhaust note a bit. Any changes in power; positive or negative; are so minor that you won't notice it in the butt dyno.
